Constituted 2 February 1901 in the Regular Army as Company H, 26th Infantry

Organized 16 April 1901 at Fort McPherson, Georgia

Redesignated 29 May 1901 as Company D, 27th Infantry

(27th Infantry assigned 1 March 1921 to the Hawaiian Division; relieved 1 October 1941 from assignment to the Hawaiian Division and assigned to the 25th Infantry Division)

Inactivated 1 February 1957 at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and relieved from assignment to the 25th Infantry Division; concurrently redesignated as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 4th Battle Group, 27th Infantry

Redesignated 27 March 1963 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 4th Battalion, 27th Infantry, withdrawn from the Regular Army, allotted to the Army Reserve, and assigned to the 63d Infantry Division (organic elements concurrently constituted)

Battalion activated 1 April 1963 with Headquarters at Long Beach, California

Inactivated 31 December 1965 at Long Beach, California, and relieved from assignment to the 63d Infantry Division

Withdrawn 27 July 1987 from the Army Reserve, allotted to the Regular Army, and assigned to the 25th Infantry Division; concurrently activated at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii

Inactivated 15 August 1995 at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii and relieved from assignment to the 25th Infantry Division
